Lance Service; Extremely Shoddy Work
I had Lance Service install a Fantastic Fan in my RV. I later discovered when I drove my RV to Florida from California, that they did not re-attach the rubber membrane on the roof correctly.
Due to the heavy rain in Florida, water entered the inside of the roof, and into the coach through the 1/2" to 1" gap between the bent and the rubber membrane. I called Mike Williams at Lance Service. He told me to get the gap repaired to stop water from continuing to enter the coach. I drove the RV 1 1/2 hours away to a reputable RV service.
When I arrived, they inspected the roof and told me that water had entered and began to rot the internal section of the roof, requiring a new rubber roof. It is June/July here (hot & humid), the repair facility said that if we don't take care of the problem now, mold will very quickly begin to grow. I called Lance several times; let several messages with Mike Williams at Lance to explain the full report of the leak. His office said he was there and would call me back.
He never did; he was always "unavailable." Not being able to communicate with Mr. Williams I made a necessary decision to repair the roof correctly. I also called Mr. Williams several times when I picked up the RV a week later; no answer, no return phone call.
Now Mr. Williams and Lance are refusing to pay anything. I ended up putting the $6,000 cost on my credit card. I am in the process of hiring a lawyer to collect this money.
BTW- they also changed the oil on my Motorhome, and I discovered 500 miles later that they have not put the oil cap back on. All I can say is that they are extremely unprofessional, shoddy work, and crooks!
Very unhappy with their service

Leaks and no solution
We have a 2015 l9 ft Lance camper and since day one we have had a leak in the back of the trailer, it started out dripping in the bathroom vent so they suggested a vent cover and installed it, next it was coming in around the back window, at first they said they couldn’t see where it was leaking but they reset the back window. Now the water just pours down the back wall when it rains, this will be the third time we have taken it in for repairs.
We noticed that water pools on the roof when it rains. Also the battery cables are hooked up backwards, red is negative and black is possative.
So when the new battery was hooked up it was not right and it blew a few fuses, thankfully my brother knew what had happened and fixed it. Other then that we like the trailer but would never buy another lance

We own a 2015 Lance Travel Trailer 1575. The first year we owned it, the front window leaked.
After taking it back to the dealer on 2 occasions and replacing the complete front window. The window has stopped leaking. We are now on our 2nd year and now the Skylight has been leaking. The on demand water heater sucks!!!
It barely keeps up when using the shower or washing dishes. The slide out is now making noise when brought in or out also. The awning cover came off and it to is making a noise when retracting.
Also the way the awning arms are located, you can't leave the door open. This is a problem if you leave the door open and the wind comes up, causing the awning to retract automatically and thus hits the door.

The Bed Maid Sleep System:
Lance 1475 **** model - Brand new but issues
On our first trip, we tried to use a/c but no cold air... only fan works...
A/C unit had to be replaced. While being on the roof, technician noticed a water puddle between fantastic fan opening an a/c unit. Trailer unit was at level. After rising it up, water evacuated in gutter but would have remained on roof otherwise.
Lance said it doesn't look like a problem to them as there was no water coming in through. Suggestion from the dealer is to have the unit off level!!! Very disappointed with Lance answer. I bought an expensive trailer thinking I would have peace of mind...
I'm not there yet and I have not made my second trip either... what is next to come?

Lance Camper - Rv Review from Sammamish, Washington
As other review says, i inspected roof on walk thru. Cracks in calking everywhere.
Lance paid for total recaulking by dealer. Front bedroom window defective.. on back order.. dealer said this is second time for window replacement.
Rear door misaligned.. gap 1/2in in upper corner. Lance had them *** door redrill hinge holes and move door.. still not right.
Led lights in main awning only half working. Replaced by lance. Grey water drain only a trickle.. pipe joint clogged with glue.
Take it on our first short trip.. 45 degrees out.. 4 season package. Cooked out of bedroom by furnace..
super cold in living area. Furnace duct work design flaw. Not fixable. Blocked 95%of vent openings in bathroom and bedroom.
Still cold in living area. Found park hookup compartment outside has huge gaps.. inside part of it is under sink.. cold air rushing in.
Long trip got up to 100deg. A/C could not keep up.. found big gap in front door. Dealer disassembled front door and straightened framework.
Did not work. Dealer requested new front door from lance, under warranty. Denied by lance. Bought in march of 2016.
Been in shop 4 times for total of 2 months.
Disgusted and depressed that we paid $12,000 more for the lance than competition. Do not be fooled by Lance's claim of superior construction, fancy collored led accent lighting and special features.
Lance 825 unsafe match, poor service, leaks, design flaws, not worth top dollar
We bought a very gently used 2015 Lance 825 in late August 2016 from the dealer in Poncha Springs, CO. We were thrilled to learn about a hard sided cab over camper that would be compatible with our Ford F150.
The 150 is my every day vehicle and I don't want to drive a bigger truck. Despite switching out to 10 ply tires and adding air bags, this camper does exceed this truck's payload capacity, and feels like it will break. Lance advertised this as a good match, but I would not recommend it. We paid top dollar for what we thought was a top of the line product.
Disappointing so far; We were packing for a trip in early March 2017 (7 months after purchase) when I noticed that the mattress and bedding were entirely soaked. The vent was closed. The mattress and down bedding were moldy and took a trip to the landfill. The dealership did not offer to replace the mattress, which ironically is one of the camper's main selling features.
So, $500 mattress down. Dealership blames us because caulk is a maintenance item! I would have expected the product to leave the lot worthy of its first winter! Other design flaws: -top left cabinet door latch fails continuously.
-when top left cabinet door is open it is a head banging hazard -rain gutters drain right into electronic door controls when the truck door is open -the CO detector is located in a location that is easily kicked by humans and dogs and it beeps annoyingly -the awning is located on the back, and closing is entirely dependent on a flimsy plastic part that was broken when we took delivery. We end up not using it because it is so challenging to close it, and the location of it on the back is not very helpful for shade. -we were excited about all the audio speakers, but they are poor quality and don't sound that great. -Lance calls this a four season camper.
This is a joke. It means they put a silver thermal blanket under the mattress, and the heater ducts into water tank areas, but you can't use plumbing in the winter anyway. I contacted Lance about these issues, and this is the reply I got: "We do appreciate you taking the time to send us your feedback and we will review some of your suggestions in our next product development meeting. It does pain us to hear that you are less than satisfied with your Lance camper however with it being a used unit our hands are tied as far as anything we can directly do.
We hope that you are able to address some of the issues you mentioned through the learning process of ownership and continuing to enjoy your camper beyond the 5 trips thus far." So what this feels like to me is both Lance and their dealership are blaming the problems on our inexperience and washing their hands of any responsibility. So much for making a purchase based on reputation.

2017 Lance Camper 1685 Awesome!!!!!
Happy LANCE Consumer here. Everything works as advertised.
Fit and finish is MUCH better than other brands. And comfortable. All installed appliances and components work great first day out. Wife loves the kitchen, microwave, stove, refrigerator.
I love the queen bed, I love that everything works without flaw, tri propane tank setup is great, 12v control system, 12V 28" LED HDTV, AC, Gas Furnace - all works great. And you can pull it behind a Buick. Install an "Equalizer hitch weight distribution sway bar and you're good to go.
I feel that the bad reviews are of difficult credibility, and must be so few and far between as to be statistically insignificant. We believe the Lance 1685 offers the best quality package with the most value for a small family and we are very pleased!!!!
- Product fit
- Great camper
- As mentiond earlier very happy with my lance camper
Lance Camper Rv Review
Tankless water heater blues
Taking a shower in a 2012 Lance 1575 travel trailer is a nightmare. You adjust the water temperature.
But once you begin bathing, the water temperature changes. You get a shot of cooold water and all of a sudden a shot of HOT water. It is so hot enough that you can remove the feathers of a chicken with it. Your skin ends up scalded if you are lucky enough not to catch a cold.
I have found myself thinking about the mother of the manufacturer every time this happens.
Best solution is to fill a 5 gallon container, immerse a battery operated pump, and shower with water already mixed to the right temperature. Buyers beware of the "Tankless Water Heater" feature on these trailers, you are in for a painful surprise.

Preferred solution: replace or redesign the water heater.
single round sink
come on, a single round sink; How do you wash and rinse dishes in a single round sink. I would suggest a double sink with corian counter inserts.
1. It would make dish washing easier 2. inserts would increase counter space 3. counter flush sinks make counter cleaning easier I would prefer buying my Lance with no sink and installing my own.
A single round raised rim sink is easy to install, and cheap. So time saving for one moment in the factory.
To the inconvenience to the purchaser forever! so so so so so so so so so so so the the the a the so but a the you but if to you but a one hundred words.
2007 LANCE model 845 Camper EXPLODED
I am not quite sure what happened. We had been driving for 5 days on the road from Colorado to Nevada.
We had been camping at 7,000 feet the night before. We arrived in Las Vegas and the temperature was very hot (116 F). The refrigerator seemed to be the cause, but the fire department was not certain. No one was injured.
It was parked in a quiet overflow lot for about 3 hours before it exploded. We had unloaded our bags to our hotel room 30 minutes before it exploded and did not smell gas at that time. Fire department determined that the stove was not on.
The truck was totaled as well. Both propane tanks were in tact when inspected by the fire chief.
Preferred solution: Full refund

I was considering a Lance purchase.
Is this a problem with Lance or a specific dealership?
