Lance campers are as bad as their customer "service"

Bought a brand-new 2004 slide-in back in Fall 2004 and was sorely disappointed in the shoddy quality and non-existent customer service. From electrical wiring running over sharp sheetmetal edges (!) to leaking roof and door window, from non-functioning fridge during the first trip to warranty repairs refused by authorized dealer - and that was only during the first year! That's the short story. For the LONG story with all its ugly details and more Lance horror stories from other Lance-victims go to http://www.lancecamperssuck.com From there you'll get to the visitors page where you can read all about Lance and how they treat customers once money has changed hands. Please read and think very hard before deciding to put down some serious money for a Lance camper.

Complaining about warranty on a 10 year old rv? I don't know any rv company that gives out a 10 year warranty.

Why would you still complain about an old problem?

Greed maybe??? I would have moved on years ago....

Sounds like he or she is trying to make a buck by advertising...

We have a Lance 1575 and the front window leaks. Anyone know where you can take it to be fixed?

It started a year ago and we didn't fix it then, big mistake!!

I am so disappointed in it. Want to fix and sell.

Lance travel trailers suck. The floor boards do not meet at supporting beams. The vents are glued not screwed on, allowing leakage. The roof support is so lacking the ceiling sags down. The black and gray water tanks are incorrect so they can not be drained...

This is all harping, negativity, sprinkled with lies. I have owned a 2016 Lance Travel Trailer for two years and live in it fulltime in the Rocky Mountains.

A truly four seasons unit.

The construction and durability of the trailer should be commended. As a retired construction engineer, their construction quality is superior.

Regards your floor rot issues, that is most likely a fresh water tank leak issue. But then again you do not state the exact nature of your complaint other than stating Lance used inferior materials, Really?

I recently attended a walk through tour of their manufacturing facility and watched from beginning to end how campers are made whole. If you saw the process you would never make this claim.

Exactly how is that without doing a forensic examination? So? based on you're opinion it must be inferior? Or did you or someone else run it into an overhead tree limb thereby damaging the roof structure and now wish to call Lance a rip-off!?! Too little info for this reader.

Based on you and your's trying to self repair sounds to me like a Ma & Pa Kettle movie. :zzz

My new(in 2005) camper Leaked water on to my bed due to Faulty molding instalation where the siide and roof come together. The nice folks at Hills Auto & RV in Yakima,Wa. told me to stop by the factory as I was very near. I was told not to worry about the water...

Lance & Sons? Hills RV said not to worry about water trapped in a wall?

I'm calling BU||$#|T. There is no "Lance" or any "Sons" at Lance Camper Mfg., Inc. and Hills RV would "Never" tell any customer not to worry about water trapped in a wall. That is "If" there was any water was trapped in any wall at all.

The side walls of your camper are load bearing and the one piece roof structure sits directly on top of the side walls. No upward facing possibility of water breach there.

Then the roof cap is installed in a "Shoe Box" manner, further eliminating the possibility of leaks, and the windows have a sealed perimeter inside frame. You and your story sound like total BU||$#|T.

I Purchased a Lance Camper 2011

After I had it for two Weeks the Top Started to Peel, and the Fold Out Table the arms covers came off the Laminate started to peel the Snaps for the window curtains Feel off. The Bathtub screws were backing out one was on the deck in the Shower. The wiring was alright and the Jacks worked good. The Plastic was still covering the Carpet when I returned the camper the Dealer said they don’t except returns I paid 30,000 The Dealer sold the trailer for me and got 27,000 and gave me back 20,000 so I lost 10,000 in two months. Do not Buy a lance whatever you do.

This door is unexceptable, this door is put together very shoddy! So I called and spoke with paul and they will not take the door back and fix it??? Will be sending demand letter next. I don't understand customer service these days, after all this door cost twice as much as it should and I can't use it!!! Will probable call the attorney general in ca. and find out how many com plaint's there is on file?? Does anybody have any other advise?

Lance camper has a manufacturing problem. We bought our camper in good faith, November 2007, new. It is an 1191. It fits a ford f350 purchased especially for the camper. Lance is suposed to be the best you can buy so that is what prompted us to make this purchase. We...

My wife and I bought a Lance camper 1181. No sooner than we got it home and the slide wouldn't open and when it did it opened all the way by itself and closed all the way by itself.

One time it started closing by itself my wife was in it and it almost closed on her. The dealer to it's credit took the thing back and gave us another model, this time an 1191. He we go, all worked good except for some minor water leaks and we hit the road. No sooner than we got a couple of hundred miles from home the slide quit working.

When I started looking around the slide I also noticed that you could almost put your whole hand outside through the lower corners of the slide as when fully extended. Very poor workmanship, beware.... So here we are half way across the USA and everywhere we stop I have to manually open and close the slide. Additionally, when we run the A/C the unit just runs and runs because Lance didn't install appropriate/enough seals around the slide.

We will never buy another Lance and would consider legal action. As for the dealer, Wheelen RV in Joplin, MO they are great people.

As a side note while we were traveling we contacted several Lance dealers and none of them would look at our problems. Ray & Debra camping in Portland, OR.
